Modern Boudoir Photography by Shelley bio picture
  • WELCOME!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog! My name is Shelley Moon and I fell in love with boudoir photography few years ago when I started my photography business. Making women feel empowered and beautiful through my work has been exciting, rewarding and most of all... FUN! Since I left the corporate world, I have never looked back and I enjoy every minute of what I do for a living now.

Take a look around and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I would love to hear from you!

    Sincerely yours,
    Shelley

On sabbatical…

This blog entry comes really late as I should have announced that I am on sabbatical until late May. I gave birth to our second son, Jonah on January 7th and will be taking some time off to enjoy this precious time with my family. If you need a boudoir photographer now, I can certainly refer you to few other photographers in town. If you are interested in booking a boudoir session for May with me, feel free to write to me as I do check my email often.

Thank you for your inquiry~!

Miss Aimee

Oldies, but goodies. When I shot these images few years ago, I was feeling somewhat inadequate, so I never posted some of these images… until now. Funny enough, I still feel this way every so often and tend to be very critical of my art. I think as an artist, that feeling never goes away…. Sigh.

I was just getting my feet wet as a photographer back then and even though I knew I was getting better every day, I knew I had a lot to learn about composition, about lighting, etc. I am constantly learning something new which makes me realize to this day, I still love what I do for a living. I never feel stagnant. Now with Jalen in tow, I simply feel don’t have enough time to do what I want to do when it comes to my business. So, I do a lot of my blogging at night when he’s asleep.

Anyways, Aimee has been asking for more boudoir photos and I didn’t think I really had any good ones to show. We were both starting out then and had so much fun collaborating. I’ve been meaning to look at her session again with fresh new eyes and I’m SO glad I did. What’s really nice is that, I really didn’t do too much here with post editing. Just color correction and that’s about it. I simply love this collage below of her. OK. Maybe the fake eye lashes was overkill, but overall… she looks amazing and I love her face expressions.

Aimee is a model I met in Bay Area when I was just getting my feet wet as a photographer few years ago. I joined ModelMayhem after a friend told me about it and quickly got an email from Aimee asking me if I would work with her. We met at Peet’s Coffee in Palo Alto one day and the rest is history. We have been friends ever since and I sincerely love her to pieces.

As a model, she was always on time, possessed a positive attitude, brought creative ideas, and respected everyone on set. As a friend, she always made me laugh, wasn’t afraid to share herself, showed me that has a big heart and always showed respect to those around her. She’s a gem.

She is not only beautiful on the outside, but truly shines from the inside. She is a strong woman and I like that in a girlfriend.;)

Miss Nicolette

Nicolette was so easy going and really comfortable in her own skin. She made my job super easy. We had a great time getting to know one another. She is such a positive person. I loved that about her. She also loves to work out and what a body she has! Oh, how I miss my 20′s! She definitely motivated me to go back to working out again soon. I better hurry up and sign up at The Bar Method soon now that Austin has opened a studio in downtown!

Here are few of my favorites from our session.

I loved this little sexy number she wore.

This is my favorite shot from our session.

Miss Lauren

Miss Lauren and I had so much fun at her boudoir photo shoot few weekends ago. Getting dolled up for a boudoir photo shoot is a must and once again, Tiffany did a great job. I wish every boudoir shoot was as easy and fun as this one. Here are few of my favorites.

Miss Laura

I went back home last month to photograph my girlfriend, Laura. Over few dozen emails, I somehow convinced her to let me shoot her in boudoir style. Luckily, she agreed and the result is fantastic. Laura is not only pretty, she’s smart, out-going and possess contagiously funny personality that made it so easy for me to shoot her. She showed up at my hotel suite at 11AM with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot and I knew we were going to have a fabulous day together. THANKS Laura again for hiring me. I’m so glad we met playing volleyball together at IVL. Here are few of my favorites from our session.

Yeah. She’s gorgeous.

I think she missed her calling. She should have been a model, but I think she loves her job too much.

Miss Ashley

I had the pleasure of shooting one of Austin’s hottie, Miss Ashley in late February. Tiffany, my partner in crime did her makeup and hair… and of course, without saying, she made Ashley look flawless. Aesthetically, this is probably my favorite boudoir shoot so far. Here are few of my favorites.

Miss Kat

I am so excited to share this boudoir photo session with y’all (I love using that word ever since I moved to Austin!). It’s my first boudoir session. I met Kat at my yoga studio in South Austin location. She’s an Assistant Manager, but she’s also studying to be a yoga teacher once she completes her training. From the moment we met, we hit it off right away sharing few things in common: 1) we are both originally from SoCal, 2) she loves to eat (we’re foodies!), and 3) we moved to Austin to establish a better quality of life. We had so much fun and the photos really show how beautiful she really is… inside and out. Big thanks goes out to Mark, her sweet boyfriend for letting us shoot at his beautiful home.

Makeup was done by lovely Tiffany Creuzbaur. Check out her website at www.creuzbaur.com which goes live on December 7th, 2010!

My favorite shot of the day.

Miss Maddie

This was my first boudoir session I shot back in March with Miss Maddie. She’s a college student at Monterey College. She’s beautiful, it’s obvious. But it was her girl-next-door personality that is truly captured in these photos. I chose the The Sanctuary Beach Resort for this photo shoot and needless to say, our beach front suite was dreamy and provided plenty of natural light which I love.

Special THANKS goes out to Melonie Pavlick for beautiful makeup and hair styling. Check out here website by clicking here.
